The Michiana Pickleball Association held a club mixer this weekend at ICE Athletic Center in Mishawaka, Indiana. Pickleball members were invited to bring a potluck dish and their paddles for a few hours of open play on a Saturday night. Included in the annual membership fee of only $12.00, the mixers are available to club members at no additional cost. The MPA organizes mixers throughout the year as an opportunity to bring members together for a social evening.

In the winter months, a Pickleball player’s only opportunities to play are in athletic facilities that allow courts to be taped off on gym floors or tennis centers that include Pickleball lines overlapping their courts. Time slots vary based on activity scheduling at each location with a daily drop-in rate. From beginners to tournament-driven players looking to train and improve their skills, these local facilities are an incredible resource to them when the outdoor surface is simply off-limits.
The MPA mixer was a popular turnout with various partnerings rotating the courts. It was a great night for players to compete against people they don’t regularly play as well as reuniting with Pickleball friends. With anticipation for the outdoor air in the Spring, the Michiana Pickleballers reveled in the indoor activities with pure joy. Michiana Pickleball Association connects enthusiasts to play Pickleball together in the local Michiana area. MPA also hosts an “All in for Alzheimer’s” Pickleball tournament in South Bend, Indiana which will be held in August this year at Notre Dame.
